On July 18th, HopefullyArt will take part in Summa Mallorca, presenting the work of Xiguan Lei, fresh from his recent exhibition in Cannes. Sculptor, painter, and poet born in Dali, China, Xiguan creates subtle works that blend seamlessly with nature, using leaves, moss, stones, and bark. His art does not aim to represent the self or nature as separate entities, but rather to explore their profound interconnection. Working in harmony with natural cycles, his ephemeral interventions evoke the spirit of land art. His practice is a poetic dialogue with the environment, where the human trace intertwines with the landscape without imposing upon it. When his own body appears in his creations, it serves as a reminder of our inseparable bond with the natural world.
