Violeta Maya’s titles on her paintings are based on Spanish proverbs. This was my first acquisition from Violeta. Having 2 paintings from Violeta Maya as part of the Collection gives a great and special signature to the project. In her work, Maya explores a variety of themes, such as identity, memory, and the passage of time.
She is also interested in the way in which personal experiences shape our perception of the world around us, and how art can be used as a tool for self-discovery and introspection. It is great how Maya’s art is characterized by a highly personal and introspective style, which combines elements of figuration and abstraction to create a unique visual language. She often works with a wide range of materials, including paint, ink, charcoal, and collage, and is known for her innovative use of colour and texture.
This new line from Violeta using pinks and burgundies creates a sort of empathy with the feminine part of the public.
